Our Dock Edge® Float lineup now includes the recently introduced "HOWELL 400" and our very popular "HOWELL 550". With these floats, our dock hardware program is complete, with all products developed and produced by Dock Edge®. This benefits you, our customer, in being able to purchase a complete and compatible line from hardware right through to the finish touches. Of course, both floats are backed by a 10 years warranty against manufacturing defects.ROTATIONAL MOLDED- From height density black virgin polyethylene with UV Inhibitors ensuring the most rugged float possible Wall thickness is a minimum 5/16’’ and up to 1/2’’ at fastening points and corner edges, ensuring extremely strong resistance to splits and punctures (400 &550)
RECESSED FLANGES- And center channel allow this versatile float to be used in standard 2’ or 4’ centers. Using standard 2’’ x 6’’ lumber the surface of the dock will be situated about 14’’ above the water. (based on 25 lbs. flotation/sq. ft. of dock). Use 8’’, 10’’ or 12 ’’ lumber for increased freeboard. (550)
1" DRAINAGE PLUG- Has a sloped channel to eliminate water accumulation around the plug. Water can also be added for ballast or to achieve neutral buoyancy when retrofitting old docks and then pumped out after positioning the float. (400 &550).
RECESSED CORNERS- Allow clearance for most hardware and nut and bolt heads. This reduces the chance of rub through allowing the float to be positioned tightly into the corners and flush with the edges for maximum stability. (550)
FLOTATIONAL CAPACITY- For the HOWELL 550 is 550 lbs with overall dimensions of 24’’ x 48’’ x 16’’ high and a tare weight of 40 lbs.
- Flotational capacity for the HOWELL 400 is 400 lbs with overall dimensions of 24’’ x 48’’ x 12’’ high.
